An Interview with Author Rashad "Bow Tie" Mills, LCPC
















Rashad Mills, LCPC is a licensed therapist, broadcast journalist, radio host and motivational speaker who has a passion to speak with at risk youth and re-direct them based on his life experiences of being shot, battling and overcoming alcoholism, and growing up in a single parent household. He is also the author of Inmate 458627: A Man's Story of Mental Health, Love, Hurt & Healing. Mr. Mills tenacity and perseverance has driven his personal growth and development of a never-ending self-education which has garnered him recognition far and wide as an authority on mental health. Daryn Carl Ramsey: How did you get your idea or concept for your business?

Rashad Mills: I was chosen to be a therapist.


Daryn Carl Ramsey: Why do you feel that it is important to support black businesses?

Rashad Mills: Supporting black businesses is critical to keep the black dollar circulating in the community.


Daryn Carl Ramsey: What service(s) or product(s) do you offer/manufacture?

Rashad Mills: I offer individual, group, and couples counseling.


Daryn Carl Ramsey: How did you decide to write a book? Can you highlight a few of the key points in your book?

Rashad Mills: Being incarcerated gave me the material, insight, and ambition to write a book.


Daryn Carl Ramsey: Would you like to collaborate with anyone in the future and if so, in what capacity?

Rashad Mills: I like to let relationships to develop organically.


Daryn Carl Ramsey: Where do you see yourself ten years from now?

Rashad Mills: Having completed seminary school and delivering the word of God. Also, running my own practice and generating passive income.


Daryn Carl Ramsey: To what do you attribute your success?

Rashad Mills: God!!!
